Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) is an agency in U.S. DOL that administers the federal law Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA).
Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) – allows an individual to continue using an employer’s group health plan for up to 18 months.
Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) – special enrollment rights, Mental Health Parity Provisions, Newborns and Mothers’ Health Protection Act, Women’s Health and Cancer Rights Act.
Affordable Care Act (ACA) – preventative services, essential services, disclosure requirements, exempted provisions for grand fathered plans.
